It is the epitome of the potential of our vineyard in tune with the know-how acquired over the years. 2014 was considered an exceptional year resulting in this unique wine, fruit of a precision viticulture and oenology that incessantly seeks the detailed manifestation of the terroir through clusters and vine stocks that, for many reasons, had a different behaviour, thus affecting its concentration and richness. Tasting Notes
Dark red colour, dense and opaque. Complex and intense nose with hints of final fermentation in barrel. Peat, cedar, light iodine, black olives, cocoa, and intense mixture of black and red fruit and dried figs. Spicy, with black pepper, thyme, and mineral extension. The tasting has trimmed tannins, thin and growing with concentration in the test medium, balsamic freshness, meat, plums, blackberries and blueberries, with a strong, mineral finish. Can, and should, be decanted. To drink between 2018 and 2038.

Once selected and barrels closed, the wine remained for a full year in total rest, without any external influence and with total freedom of evolution, a concept that makes it unique.

Tasting Notes

This wine is a tribute to José Manuel de Mello, for his excellence as an entrepreneur and for his passion for wine, but also a tribute to the Alicante Bouschet variety, that became a symbol of the region. In 2014, this grape variety developed a unique balance, allowing to produce the first and only 100% Alicante Bouschet wine ever produced at Monte da Ravasqueira.
Just over three hectares gave rise to 6,686 bottles, in an exclusive and special production, thanks to precision viticulture. This wine aged for 28 months in French oak barrels and 12 months in bottle, which will allow a positive evolution over the next 20 years.

Tasting Notes

Dark and typical in Alicante Bouschet’s color. This wine is the maximum expression of what can be an Alicante Bouschet from the Alentejo. Powerful and mature in the mouth and nose does not lose the virtue of the grape variety to generate fresh wines and always with notes of green grass or pinewood that help the prolongation of his life. With strong tannins but without affecting the tasting and with the wood that was purposely present it becomes a great wine to keep in your cellar.
