With its excellent geological and weather conditions, well suited to the production of some of the best wines that the Alentejo has to offer, Monte da Ravasqueira owns a 43,86 hectares of vineyard, with an annual production of 200,000 bottles. The first vintage took place in 2001 and three brands of wine are now being sold on the domestic and export markets: “Monte da Ravasqueira” (Red, White and Rosé), “Fonte da Serrana”(Red and White) and “Calantica” (White and Red). In 2007, a new red wine with exceptional quality was launched: "Monte da Ravasqueira Vinha das Romãs".
Monte da Ravasqueira is included in the Alentejo Wine Route. In July 2005 it has been included in the prestigious International Vineyards of Renown, with consequent membership of the ARD-VD (Association pour la Recherche et le Développment en Viticulture Durable). The aim of the association is to contribute to the acquisition of know-how and experience leading to the implementation of production methods compatible with Rational Farming based, in turn, on Integrated Production.
In a constant search to ensure that its wines are of the best quality, Monte da Ravasqueira has the support of a University of Bordeaux consultant in vineyards and vines, a partnership that it expects to extend to winemaking in the near future.
