My decision to develop a corporate venture at the end of the nineties with the idea of producing quality wines at Monte da Ravasqueira, near Arraiolos, was mainly directed at taking advantage of the geological conditions and climate of the Alentejo, with due regard, at the same time, for the unique riches, history and natural environment of the region. 

When I decided to replace orchards with vines in the wake of geological studies carried out to determine the grape varieties and the best sites to plant them, I entered into a commitment to invest in the creation of the very best conditions for meteorological and plant-health control, and in the oenological equipment that has made our winery one of the most modern in the country. 

The next step was to set up a team charged with implementing a project of excellence and quality, a team that I have accompanied with a great deal of interest.
