Gold and Silver at China Sommeliers Wine Challenge

The Monte da Ravasqueira red wines won one gold and two silver medals at the first edition of the China Sommeliers Wine Challenge.

According to the contest’s official results announced on November 18th, the Monte da Ravasqueira Vinha das Romãs 2007 red wine was distinguished with a gold medal, while the Monte da Ravasqueira 2008 and Fonte da Serrana 2008 reds were awarded silver medals.

Monte da Ravasqueira wines in Macao and Hong-Kong

Monte da Ravasqueira has just taken another step in its internationalisation strategy, involving putting its wines on sale in Macao and Hong-Kong.

The marketing of the Monte da Ravasqueira wines in these markets will be undertaken by Portuguese TopWine, a company engaged in the export and promotion of Portuguese wines in Asian markets, particularly the medium- and top-quality wines.

Monte da Ravasqueira wins Rugby Tournament

A Monte da Ravasqueira team won the 1st Lawyers Seven-a-Side Rugby Tournament, organised mainly for the purpose of raising funds to sponsor initiatives allowing rugby to be played by people from needier council estates.

This tournament was held at the Law Sports Group playing fields in Lisbon, on September 20th, and more than a hundred players took part, most of them lawyers from some of the most renowned Portuguese law firms.

Silver medals in the Decanter and IWSC

The 2007 Monte da Ravasqueira Vinha das Romãs Red, already availabe on the market, was awarded two silver medals in this year’s editions of the Decanter and International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) contests, two of the most prestigious and well-attended international wine contests.

The announcements of the prizes in the 2009 edition of both contests were made on May 12th, during the London International Wine Fair.

It should be recalled that the 2006 Monte da Ravasqueira Vinha das Romãs also won a silver medal at the 2008 edition of the IWSC.

Monte da Ravasqueira launches 2008 ros� and white

Monte da Ravasqueira has already put its new rosé and white wines on the market, produced from the 2008 harvest. This first stage of the marketing campaign is primarily directed at wine merchants and restaurants.

The 2008 Monte da Ravasqueira Rosé, of which 13,000 bottles were made, is a high quality wine, pink in colour and with a fresh aroma, produced from a selection of Alfrocheiro, Aragonez and Touriga Franca grape varieties.

The 2008 Monte da Ravasqueira White, of which just 7,000 bottles were made, is also a fine wine resulting from a selection of Antão Vaz, Arinto and Chardonnay grapes.
